Description

High-transparency Digifabb FEP film sheet designed for LCD, DLP, and SLA resin 3D printers. Durable 0.15 mm release film with excellent UV transmission, smooth layer separation, and compatibility with multiple resin printer vat sizes.

Key Features

  • High UV Light Transmission: Digifabb FEP films provide excellent transparency, allowing efficient UV light transmission required for precise resin curing in LCD, DLP, and SLA printers.
  • Smooth Non-Stick Surface: The low surface energy of FEP creates a non-stick surface that allows cured resin layers to release easily during the printing process.
  • Durable and Flexible Material: Manufactured using fluorinated ethylene propylene, the film offers high flexibility and resistance to tearing or deformation during repeated printing cycles.
  • Chemical Resistant: FEP film is highly resistant to most photopolymer resins, cleaning solvents, and chemicals commonly used in resin 3D printing workflows.
  • Heat and UV Resistant: The material can withstand high operating temperatures and prolonged UV exposure without losing its mechanical or optical properties.
  • High Optical Clarity: The film’s optical clarity ensures accurate UV exposure and helps maintain high print resolution and detail.

Benefits

  • Improved Print Quality
  • High transparency ensures consistent UV exposure, resulting in better layer curing and improved model accuracy.
  • Reduced Print Failures
  • The smooth release surface helps reduce adhesion between the printed layer and the film, minimizing print failures.
  • Extended Printer Component Protection
  • The FEP film acts as a protective barrier between the resin and the LCD screen or light source.
  • Long Service Life
  • High durability allows the film to withstand multiple printing cycles before replacement is required.
  • Easy Installation
  • Flexible material makes it easy to install and tension within the resin vat frame.

Applications

DigiFabb FEP release films are primarily used in resin-based 3D printing technologies including:

  • LCD Resin 3D Printing
  • Used in LCD printers where UV light passes through the FEP film to cure liquid photopolymer resin.
  • DLP 3D Printing
  • Supports Digital Light Processing printers where projected light patterns cure the resin layer by layer.
  • SLA 3D Printing
  • Compatible with stereolithography printers that rely on precise resin curing to create high-resolution models.

Typical industries using resin 3D printing include:

  • Product prototyping
  • Dental model production
  • Jewelry design
  • Engineering prototypes
  • Miniature model printing

Resources

How to Use FEP Film in Resin 3D Printers

  • 1. Remove the Resin Vat
Take out the resin vat from the 3D printer and empty the resin.
  • 2. Remove the Old Film
Unscrew the frame and carefully remove the old or damaged FEP film.
  • 3. Install the New Film
Place the new Digifabb FEP film between the vat frames and align it properly.
  • 4. Tighten the Screws
Secure the screws evenly so the film stays tight and flat.
  • 5. Trim to size
Trim the extra FEP release film from edges
  • 6. Reinstall the Vat
Attach the resin vat back to the printer and refill it with resin.
  • 7. Run a Test Print
Start a small test print to ensure the film is installed correctly.
