First Impressions: Flashforge WJ51C – A Compact Revolution for India’s Jewelry Manufacturing

That’s why our team made the trip to the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show from March 4 to 8, 2026. Among the highlights at Flashforge’s booth 5F-C30 was the unveiling of the WJ51C – the world’s first compact desktop production wax 3D printer. This machine is set to bridge a critical gap for jewelers with limited factory space and smaller production volumes, and we’re excited to share our initial thoughts.

Our team got an up-close look at the machine, which was showcased to emphasize its real-world size. At just 865 × 510 × 654 mm and 115 kg, it fits seamlessly into any standard workshop without the need for dedicated infrastructure. While no live demo was available, the sample wax pieces highlighted its potential for detailed jewelry patterns, such as rings and chains. With a build volume of 235 × 138 × 100 mm, it’s ideally suited for custom or limited-quantity runs, revolutionizing how small jewelry manufacturers transition from traditional methods to efficient digital workflows.

- Exceptional Accuracy: 2900 × 2900 × 1700 DPI resolution with 15 µm layer thickness ensures smooth, high-fidelity models. This minimizes post-processing, saving approximately 30% in labor time and eliminating much of the manual polishing.
- Robust Reliability: Designed for 24/7 operation with industrial-grade stability, it promises 30-50% lower total operating costs compared to similar precision systems. The dedicated FFWJ1200 castable wax (red, with <0.01% ash content) and FFMS3200 dissolvable support deliver tough, low-defect results ideal for investment casting.
